The basics of summer skin care for men

Mate, taking care of your skin is important all year. It’s especially important in the warmer months when your skin cops it from all angles and you work up a sweat walking a couple hundred meters from the car to the beach.

We’ve got two simple summer skin care tips for men to sort you out in the warmer months. At the end of the day, just like you take care of that hard-earned thirst, take care of that poor old mug.

  1. Cleanse
Cleansing your face after a long day is really important in summer. Using our Face Wash every evening will remove the sweat, oil and dirt that builds up over the day. It’ll also remove any residual sunscreen or other products that, if left uncleansed, can build up and give your pores a hard time. And nobody wants to get on the bad side of their pores.

  2. Moisturise
We know what you’re thinking: but why do I have to moisturise if I’m just gonna end up a sweaty mess? Won’t that sweat keep me hydrated? Well, let us tell you: sweat is super important and cools you down, but it won’t moisturise, hydrate and nourish your skin, nor will it soften and recondition your complexion, like our Daily Face Moisturiser will. Make sure you moisturise after you cleanse to get your mug back to square one after the beating it takes throughout the day.

And that’s it. These are the two super easy things to do at the end of the day to take care of your skin this summer (and all year for that matter). Check out our Face Mates Kit to get you started on your skin care routine.

A couple more hot tips for hot weather to keep your skin in shape:

    • Drink lots of water and fluids. Replace what you lose during the day to show your skin some love. Especially if you’re gonna get on the beers.
    • Slip, slop, slap. The sun is a harsh mistress. Be careful out there and your skin will thank you for it in days and years to come.
